Dr. Nguyen is a Cornea & Lasik Surgeon who is currently serving patients at her own private practice – Anh Nguyen Ophthalmology – located in Falls Church, Virginia. For over 15 years now, the experienced team at Anh Nguyen Ophthalmology have been offering services including vision correction procedures including LASIK, new surgery techniques for cataracts, glaucoma, and more. Using cutting-edge vision technology and science, they are constantly perfecting the newest, safest, and most effective ways to ensure quality vision for all their patients.
Growing up in Montreal, she developed a strong interest in medicine and by the time she entered college, she knew vision would become her life’s work. She earned a Doctorate in Medicine from McGill University, specialized in Ophthalmology at the University of Maryland-Baltimore, as well as completed a 2-year fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Nguyen is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). She also holds professional memberships with the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, Collège des Médecins du Québec, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Association of Research and Visual Ophthalmology, and Fédération des Médecins Spécialistes du Québec.
Dr. Nguyen is a Clinical Instructor at the American Academy of Ophthalmology and at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, where she gives talks to the scientific community on various subjects relating to her field of expertise. She continues to do extensive research and academic writing in the ophthalmology field, as well as stay up to date on the newest and latest technology.
Dr. Nguyen also serves as the Assistant Medical Director of World Health Association (WHA), a Non Profit organization whose mission involves planning and carrying out Medical Relief Missions to provide care for individuals and communities around the world who do not have access to needed health care and dental care at no cost to the patient. WHA is also committed to building the capability of local health care providers and the capacity of local health care services by working side-by-side with local health care providers and sharing medical knowledge and techniques; giving lectures to local medical, dental schools, and health science schools; and donating medical equipment to local health care institutions and providing training for the equipment.
Dr. Nguyen also teaches residents at the Lyon’s clinic at Inova Fairfax Hospital Systems as well as supporting local aspiring medical students through internships here at her Falls Church office. In her spare time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time with her husband and their 3 sons. She attributes her success to their love and support, helping her to become the doctor and the mother she is today.
