Get to know Dentist Dr. Hendrick Tafo-Tabue, who serves patients in Midlothian, Virginia
Dr. Tabue is a dentist who serves as the Owner and Operator of Ivoir Smiles in Midlothian, Virginia. At his family dental practice dedicated to customer satisfaction, he and his staff place a high value on client education and comfort. They offer a variety of suitable treatment options, but give each patient the time and space needed to make the right decision.
Since a very young age, Dr. Tabue has loved the practice of dentistry. When he was younger, he suffered a horrible toothache that caused him intense pain. He was shuttled to the dentist by his parents, where he was told he had developed a root infection and abscess on a rear tooth. Despite the horrible pain he felt from that experience, the one thing that stood out the most in his memory was how well that dentist cared for him. Since that day, he developed a fascination for the dental practice.
As he aged, he transformed his childhood appreciation for his local dental professional into a career. After attending the University of Abidjan School of Dentistry in the Ivory Coast, Dr. Tabue started a small practice, where he worked for just under two years. Unable to shake the travel bug, he decided to move to France, where he studied orthodontic treatment with high caliber trainers. After studying in France for a short period, he moved to the U.S. to complete his general practice residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. It was only a short time after passing his U.S. dental exams that his dream of starting a dental practice in Virginia came true.
Knowing first-hand how scary it can be to visit a dental professional, Dr. Tabue also knows how wonderful a patient can feel after having their teeth cared for by an expert. This understanding drives him and his entire staff to work extra hard for patients’ comfort during their treatments.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
In his personal time, Dr. Tabue enjoys furthering his education in the dental field and spending time with his wife and twin daughters.
