In regards to his educational background, Dr. Hansen earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed his internship at University Hospital - Newark, and his residency in internal medicine at the Overlook Medical Center.

As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, which is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults.
