Dr. Zimmerman, also known as Dr. Z, is a general dentist who has been serving patients’ dental needs at his private dental practice, at a Smile Resort in Jacksonville, Florida for over 30 years.

 Dr. Zimmerman’s mission is to be recognized for excellence, giving his patients the best dentistry can offer. Dr. Zimmerman earned his bachelor’s degree in biological science with Cum Laude honors from the University of California, Irvine. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from McGill University in 1984. Dr. Zimmerman successfully received his general practice certification from the University of Florida. 

Dr. Z,  is a proud and active member with the American Dental Association, the Academy of Implant Dentistry, the Florida Dental Association, Northeast District Dental Association, Florida Dental Society of Anesthesiology, Academy of Implant Dentistry, and International Congress of Oral Implantologist.  He received his IV permit from St. Joseph’s Medical Center, New Jersey, completed the continuum of Implant Dentistry at the University of Florida to become proficient in placing dental implantsand enthusiastically continues his advanced education to stay abreast in the field of dentistry Dr. Zimmerman was first to bring to Jacksonville the ND-Yag  Laser. He received certification to use the Er-Yag Laser to treat carious lesions in the mouth. Dr. Zimmerman is a certified Invisalign provider. Invisalign is a type of orthodontic treatment that helps to straighten teeth without the use of the typical metal braces.

Dr. Z’s motto is We Cater to Cowards,  means we take care of our patients like family. Dr. Z and his staff treat his patients with the utmost compassion and he gets great satisfaction hearing sincere appreciation from them. His community involvement has extended to teaching children about preventive dentistry at neighborhood schools and at the Birth and Parenting Club.
