Recognized as a Top Podiatrist by Washingtonian Magazine in 2020, Dr. Tacktill specializes in complex lower extremity reconstruction, including total ankle arthroplasty & primary and revisional surgery. Dr. Tacktill holds two United States patents for his inventions consisting of two full line orthopedic plating systems for use over the entire body. He is a part of the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, P.C., providing care to patients at Largo Medical Center in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group P.C. consists of more than 1,600 doctors responsible for providing exceptional medical care to Kaiser Permanente members. Throughout his academic career, Dr. Tacktill earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, Florida. He then went on to serve his residency at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach, followed by his fellowship at the Carilion Medical Center in Roanoke, Virginia. 

Following his training, the doctor became board-certified in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, whose mission is to protect and improve the health and welfare of the public by advancing the art and science of foot and ankle surgery.

Among his professional affiliations, he is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine.
