Born in Dallas, all of Dr. Kasbarian’s medical training has been conducted in Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Dallas in 1982, followed by his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1986. He then went on to complete his internship at Brackenridge Hospital, followed by his residency in family medicine at UT Southwestern Affiliated Hospitals in 1990. 

Thereafter, he became board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.
