Dr. Bello earned his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He then went on to complete his internship and to serve as a Primary Care Physician and the Director of the Primary Care Unit for the D.R.’s Department of Public Health and Social Assistance. He completed his residency in general surgery at St. Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City and Northside Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio. Motivated by the latest surgical advances in surgery, he enrolled in a surgical fellowship in advanced minimally-invasive surgery / bariatric surgery at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, before taking on a position with Broward Surgical Specialists in Tamarac, Florida as a general surgeon.
Dr. Bello has spent many years working as a medical instructor and consultant. He has also published articles and spoken at conferences regarding his extensive research in the areas of minimally invasive surgery and bariatric surgery procedures. Dr. Bello serves on national committees at prestigious professional surgery organizations in the United States. He is also actively involved in academic surgery and research where he is constantly evolving along with the surgery field in order to offer patients the best available treatments.
Dr. Bello is board certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
