Dr. Braxton is a pediatric dentist who strives to create positive and life-long relationships with her patients and their parents at Toothbeary Pediatric Dentistry in Glen Allen, Virginia. She has the specialized equipment, facility, and staff to properly address today’s most demanding pediatric dentistry and orthodontic needs in a warm and caring environment.

An active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Braxton also tends to patients’ dental needs at Hampton Roads Pediatric Dentistry with offices throughout the state of Virginia. Known for her warm personality, her passion lies in improving oral health for all children.

Born and raised in Chesterfield, Virginia, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology Pre-Med from Virginia State University and received a Master of Science degree in Biology with a concentration on Biochemistry from Virginia State University and the University of Iowa. She earned her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from the University of Louisville and completed her general practice residency training at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York. She then received advanced training in pediatric dentistry at New York University. 

While in dental school and throughout her residency, Dr. Braxton was active in student government and participated in many community service outreach projects, including a mission trip to Rio, Brazil and Yakutat, Alaska to bring dentistry to children in need of dental care. During her residency, she received extensive training in treating children under general anesthesia and conscious sedation. Furthermore, she received extensive training in treating special needs and medically compromised children at the Rose F. Kennedy University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities in the Bronx, New York. 

Pediatric dentistry is the branch of dentistry dealing with children from birth through adolescence. Pediatric dentists are dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teen years. They have the experience and qualifications to care for a child’s teeth, gums, and mouth throughout the various stages of childhood. Children begin to get their baby teeth during the first 6 months of life.

In her spare time, Dr. Braxton enjoys spending time with family, going to the theatre, and traveling.
