Get to know Neurologist Dr. Isaac Mezo, who serves patients in Morris, Illinois.

Being a board-certified and fellowship-trained neurologist, Dr. Mezo specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, and nerves, including stroke, headaches, seizures, speech and language disorders, infections of the brain and peripheral nervous systems, movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, sleep disorders, dementia disorders such as Alzheimer’s, and multiple sclerosis.

On the subject of his educational background, Dr. Mezo received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He also completed his internship in internal medicine, residency in neurology, and fellowship in neurophysiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He then joined Morris Hospital’s medical staff in 2013, and also sees patients at Channahon Healthcare Center of Morris Hospital. 

A member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Heart and Stroke Association, the doctor is board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists. 

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
