Get to know Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr. Robert D. Pascotto Jr., who serves patients in Naples, Florida.

Dr. Pascotto Jr. is an experienced board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon who is the recipient of Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2010, 2011, 2012) and the On-Time Doctor Award (2014). At present, he works at the NCH Heart Institute in Naples, Florida.

Back in 1997, Dr. Pascotto Jr. earned his medical degree from the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. He then went on to complete his internship and residency at Albany Medical Center, followed by his fellowship at the University of Arizona. 

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the doctor is board-certified in thoracic and cardiac surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, which is an American surgical organization devoted to surgery of the chest. He is also a member of  the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Collier County Medical Society, and the Florida Medical Association.

Cardiothoracic surgery is the field of medicine involved in the surgical treatment of organs inside the thorax. Cardiothoracic surgeons are medical doctors who specialize in surgical procedures inside the thorax, which may involve the heart, lungs, esophagus, and other organs in the chest. Alongside performing surgery, they also diagnose and treat diseases of these organs. 

Among his service driven endeavors, Dr. Pascotto volunteered in Port Au Prince Haiti for 7 days immediately following the devastating earthquake in 2010.
