Get to know Dr. Jennifer O’Neill, a highly regarded specialist who exclusively treats benign and malignant diseases of the breast.
Dr. O’Neill founded the Arizona Breast Consultants in order to give patients a deeper understanding of their disease process, provided in a caring and compassionate environment.
Dr. O'Neill earned her medical degree from the University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis, TN. The College of Medicine is a member of the Association of American Medical Colleges and accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). She completed her Surgical Internship at the University of Illinois, Peoria and her residency at Michigan State University.
She began as a general surgeon in a rural part of Virginia fulfilling her dream to help others. But her journey took a turn when her mother was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. This life altering event changed her course and she decided to focus exclusively on the treatment of breast cancer. She gained additional training studying breast surgery exclusively and soon after accepted a faculty position at Vanderbilt University. The Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is a premier research facility that is internationally recognized for its leadership and innovation in the biomedical and biological sciences.
Dr. O’Neill moved west to Arizona and began working in private practice. She founded Arizona Breast Consultants, a patient centric facility, to offer her patients a coordinated and comprehensive healthcare team consisting of a primary care provider, gynecologist, medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, and/or plastic surgeon.
She is highly skilled in all facets of breast surgery with an exceptional cosmetic outcome. She performs many types of breast surgery including breast-conserving surgery or mastectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy, axillary lymph node dissection and breast reconstruction.
Dr. O’Neill is an American College of Surgeons Fellow as well as a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She is a member of the American society of Breast Disease and the American Society of Women Surgeons. She believes strongly in giving back to her community and the underserved as evidenced by her mission work with Food for the Hungry.
Dr. O’Neill is married with two wonderful children, both actively serving in the United States Army. Outside of the operating room she has a passion for hiking, photography, and gardening.
