How long is anesthesia for tonsils surgery?
Your anesthetic will last as long as the surgery. A tonsillectomy lasts about 30 minutes, and some may take up to one hour. I suspect your real question is how long will the recovery room stay will last. Your anesthetic will be turned off at the end of the surgical case, and you will awaken in the next 10 to 15 minutes. It may take longer for you to be fully awake and aware. Recovery room stay will average about one hour but dependent upon age and amount of anesthetic required. Hope this helps. READ MORE
