Get to know the Director of Interventional Radiology Dr.Sumanth Atluri., who serves Paoli, Pennsylvania at Paoli Hospital. Dr. Atluri graduated at the top of his class and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in his Junior Year. Experience: After graduating and receiving his medical degree, Dr. Atluri completed his internship at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. Followed by his residency at the University of Maryland in Diagnostic Radiology, Dr. Atluri completed his fellowship in Interventional Radiology at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. He is dual certified by the American Board of Radiology in both Diagnostic Radiology and Interventional Radiology. He maintains a professional membership with the Society of Interventional Radiology, American College of Radiology, and the American Roentgen Ray Society. Current Position: Dr. Atluri is a member of Radiology Associates of the Main Line and serves as Director of Interventional Radiology at Paoli Hospital. Having more than 7 years of diverse experience in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology following fellowship, Dr. Atluri is also affiliated with Lankenau Medical Center, Bryn Mawr Hospital, and Riddle Memorial Hospital. Dr. Atluri specializes in all aspects of Interventional Radiology. Interventional Radiology: This is sometimes known as vascular and interventional radiology, is a medical specialty which provides minimally invasive image-guided diagnosis and treatment of disease. Although the range of procedures performed by interventional radiologists is broad, the unifying concept behind these procedures is the application of image guidance and minimally invasive techniques in order to minimize the risk to the patient.   Personal: Dr. Atluri attributes his professional success to performing cutting edge treatments, while maintaining the highest level of quality control and compassion for patients.  Dr. Atluri resides in Radnor, PA and enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, travelling, and playing sports. He is an avid fan of the Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Eagles.
