Get to know Family Physician Dr. Sonya R. Schleeper, who serves patients in Jerseyville, Illinois.

Being a respected, board-certified family physician, Dr. Schleeper is affiliated with JCH Medical Group McDow Building in Jerseyville, Illinois.

Jersey Community Hospital (JCH) is a healthcare organization focused on delivering the best primary care and sustainable secondary care in the communities it serves. The staff currently serve people and communities in Jersey, Calhoun, Greene, and Madison Counties in Illinois. “JCH will provide people-focused primary care-plus, stressing preventative services and public accountability” according to its mission statement.

A Jerseyville native, Dr. Schleeper earned her medical degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 1995. She then went on to serve her residency in family medicine at the same educational venue.

Licensed to practice medicine by the state of Illinois, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties. 

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.
