Professional Wound Specialists provide wound care treatments in hospitals, surgical center, rehabilitation facilities, long term acute care, skilled nursing facilities, and home health services. Originally from San Marino in Southern California, Dr. Wu went to college at the University of California, San Diego, and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific. He later completed his residency in general surgery at St. John’s Hospital, and his fellowship in laparoscopic and bariatric surgery in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
An authority in his field, the doctor is board-certified in general surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery.
In order to keep himself on the cutting edge of wound care, he is an active member of the American Board of Wound Management, the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
As for his academic appointments, Dr. Wu lectures at Touro University, trains residents from Valley Hospital and speaks for present/past over 13 pharmaceutical wound companies. He also lectures at conferences such as Superbones Superwounds, Desert Foot, American Medical Integration, and has traveled internationally to lecture in Iceland and Taiwan, Republic of China.
