Dr. Ravi Radhakrishnan is a board-certified Ophthalmologist who has been caring for patients for 14 years. He founded Retina Consultants of Westchester in 2018 in order to provide evidence-based and compassionate ophthalmic care to all patients. He has advanced training and experience with emerging therapies for macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vascular occlusions.
Dr. Radhakrishnan graduated from the accelerated combined Bachelor of Arts-Doctor of Medicine program at Rutgers University and Rutgers – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (now New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai), where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. He then completed a two-year medical and surgical retina fellowship at the University of Florida College of Medicine at Jacksonville.
Dr. Radhakrishnan has presented research at national meetings and authored multiple scientific articles on topics including retinopathy of prematurity, novel diagnostic modalities, retinal vein occlusions and diabetic macular edema. He has also served as a peer reviewer for major journals.
For the past three years, Dr. Radhakrishnan was in private practice in New York City and Westchester County. Prior to this, he was an Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University in Long Island. There, he trained resident ophthalmologists, mentored medical students, and delivered comprehensive medical and surgical retina care.
Dr. Radhakrishnan is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the Medical Society of the State of New York, the New York Ophthalmological Society, and the Westchester County Medical Society.
Dr. Radhakrishnan is on the medical staff and performs surgery at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, The Mount Sinai Hospital, Lawrence Hospital of New York Presbyterian, Northern Westchester Hospital, and the Manhattan Eye and Ear Infirmary of Northwell Health.
In his free time, Dr. Radhakrishnan enjoys traveling, photography, and spending time with his family.

It’s not recommended to use contact lenses more than the manufacturer’s recommendation. You may develop infections. There may be deposits on contact lenses that can cause chronic irritation.
