Back in 2001, Dr. Hockaday graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the New York University College of Dentistry. 

Nowadays, in order to stay up to date on the latest advances and discussion in the field of dentistry, she remains a member of the following organizations: the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, the North Carolina Dental Association, the Charlotte Dental Society, and the 2nd District Society for North Carolina.
