Get to know Family Practitioner, Dr. Corey H. Evans, who serves patients in St. Petersburg, Florida. 

Dr. Evans is a Family Practitioner who continuously strives to adapt to the changing trends in medicine and the healthcare market. He takes a genuine interest in advancing his skills according to new advancements in medicine so that his patients can receive the best treatment possible.

Currently, he is serving patients at BayCare in St. Petersburg, Florida. BayCare is the largest health care system in the Tampa Bay area and West Central Florida whose mission is to improve the health of all they serve through community-based health care services that set the standard for high-quality, compassionate care.

After earning his medical degree from Saint Louis University in 1976, Dr. Evans went on to complete residencies at the University of Missouri School of Medicine and at Florida Hospital East Orlando.

Shortly after, he became board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) with subspecialty certifications in geriatric medicine and sports medicine. The ABFM is a not-for-profit, private organization whose mission is to improve the health of the public through board certification, residency training, research, leadership development, and promoting the development of the specialty of Family Medicine. The primary role of the ABFM is to support family physicians who are committed to achieving excellence in improving the health of their patients, their families, and their communities.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. Since its creation, the specialty has delivered on its promise to reverse the decline of general medicine and provide personal, front-line medical care to people of all socioeconomic strata and in all regions of the United States. Family medicine physicians, like Dr. Evans, are trained to provide comprehensive care for all ages, taking care of most of the healthcare needs of a diverse spectrum of people, from babies to seniors. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or an appropriate facility.
