Can I brush my teeth after wisdom teeth removal?
Dear patient, You definitely need to brush your teeth after extraction. By brushing, you will remove bacteria and help you heal faster. If you notice bleeding in mouth in the area heart the extraction, you want to spend extra time gently cleaning. Bleeding is sign of infection. On the first day of extraction, please do not rinse. Second day, you can use some lukewarm salt water and let the solution sit in the mouth and help disinfect. Do not swish aggressively to prevent tearing at the healing sight. As days pass, you can rinse a bit harder. Definitely brush your teeth and, if you have a water flosser, use it, but avoid the extraction site. Please follow up with your doctor if needed. If you start experiencing pain days after extraction, please follow up with your doctor. I hope this was helpful to you! All the best, Lisa Wu, DMD READ MORE

How long does it take for nerves to settle after fillings?
Dear patient, That’s difficult to say. If you still have sensitivity, first check to see if your bite is correct. Meaning when you have your teeth together, does the tooth that had filling done touches first. If it’s yes, then that can cause sensitivity. You will need to see your dentist for adjustment. If the filling is large and deep close to the nerve, the sensitive maybe present as result. If the discomfort doesn’t linger, then the nerve is still vital. It’s uncertain how long the sensitivity will last. Try using sensitivity tooth paste and try not to chew with the tooth for a while. If you are uncertain, best to have your tooth checked with your dentist. Best, READ MORE

After the implant is placed, you will have to wait another 3-4 month for the crown placement. When you go for your consultation, this will be discussed in detail. You will also be informed of treatment time frame. Typically, one implant tooth placement to completion can take up to 8 months time. Hope that’s helpful. Best regards, READ MORE
