She has extensive experience in multiple women’s issues including contraception, routine examination, menopause, laparoscopy, laparotomy, management of uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, etc. She also performs hysterectomies, both laparoscopically and open laparotomy. She has been certified to perform robotic surgeries for several years and also performs hysteroscopies, uterine endometrial ablation, and Myosure procedures. Likewise, she is able to perform many in-office procedures including colposcopies, biopsies of cervix and vagina/vulva, endocervical/endometrial biopsies, cryotherapy, LEEP procedures, IUD insertion and removal, and Nexplanon.
Born in Cuba, Dr. Sobarzo came to the United States at the age of 7 and was raised in Sweeny, Texas. She graduated with her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University in 1981 and her medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine in 1985. She then went on to serve her residency in obstetrics and gynecology with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Affiliated Hospitals in 1989, after which she began practicing in the Katy-West Houston area.
With expertise in gynecology and women’s issues, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
Having practiced obstetrics and gynecology for over 25 years, Dr. Sobarzo then felt she should limit her practice to gynecology, as she realized that this was an important part of women’s health. She is truly a patient’s advocate and wants to do the best for the patients and help them feel their best.
