In 2000, after 15 years of active practice, she transitioned her office to the electronic health record (EHR). Dr. Masson became a staunch advocate for physicians in EHR usage, eventually emerging as a local and regional champion in the field of informatics. Her commitment to promoting improved communication and transparency led her into an active role in informatics, with the belief that medicine can achieve an efficient system that prioritizes quality and simplifies decision-making for physicians.
Writing has been a persistent habit throughout her life—including a second degree from MIT in humanities, a community columnist role for a decade in Modesto, California, and an opportunity to write a patient blog for Sutter Health. Since 2011, Dr. Masson has returned to her native Los Angeles as a clinical informaticist at Cedars-Sinai.
Throughout her life, Dr. Masson has maintained a consistent habit of writing, obtaining a second degree in humanities from MIT and serving as a community columnist for a decade in Modesto, California. She also had the opportunity to write a patient blog for Sutter Health, before returning to her native Los Angeles and joining Cedars-Sinai in 2011.
