Get to know Dentist Dr. Sonja K. Garden, who serves patients in Berkeley, California.

As a native from the Bay Area, it was only natural for Dr. Garden to want to help the community she was raised in. She has been practicing general, family, and cosmetic dentistry since 1992 and opened her private practice in Berkeley, California in 1997.

Passionate about her work as a dentist, she brings compassion, empathy, experience, and a genuine care for each one of her patients, many of whom have been patients of hers for a long time. Some of the services that she offers include: cleaning, teeth whitening, crowns, implants, veneers, mouthguards, and composite fillings.

A very proud 1992 graduate of the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, it was there that Dr. Garden taught as an adjunct faculty in the emergency room. She then completed two courses for Nobel Biocare Implants.

Continuing to stay current in techniques and procedures through continued education, she is a member of several different organizations. These include: the American Association for Women Dentists, the Contra Costa Dental Society, the American Association of Dental Consultants, the California Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.

When she is not working, Dr. Garden enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, hiking, skiing, practicing yoga, and twirling on the dance floor. She speaks English and Tagalog.
