Back in 1978, Dr. Lanier earned his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, graduating Cum Laude. He then went on to complete his internship at the University of California, Davis, followed by his residency at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Following his training, the doctor became board-certified in otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, which serves the public by ensuring that diplomates meet the standards of training, knowledge, and professionalism through initial and continuing certification.
