I knocked out my two front teeth. What's the procedure for implants?
That is a difficult and loaded question. When you get your consultation, make sure to let the dental provider know about your history of trauma to the area. Implants usually need 4-6 months to heal before you put a crown on them, so you will need temporary teeth there while you heal. Most patients use a partial denture during that time. After your implants are ready to restore, you will need to reshape the tissue, and have final crowns made. The whole process will take approximately 4-8 months to do. READ MORE
The crown over my molar cracked. What should I do?
If you are in pain, make an appointment ASAP to see a dentist to see what is causing the pain. The nerve of the tooth may be infected or injured. READ MORE
How long do partial dentures last?
Partial dentures usually last around 7-10 years. After about 5 years, the teeth may need to be replaced because they do wear down. If the partial has metal, it may be reused to make a new partial, with new pink material, and new teeth. I recommend that you keep the old one (if it still fits well), as a backup. It is always good to have a backup set of teeth. READ MORE
Do I need a prosthodontic follow up after getting my dentures?
I usually require at least an annual exam for patients that have dentures. I usually check the fit, and the bite to make sure it is ok. Dentures ideally need to have the teeth replaced after 5-7 years. Most dentures have a lifetime period of about 7-10 years. Every 2-3 years, a patient who has only dentures will need a panoramic x-ray to make sure all is well in the patient's upper and lower jaw. READ MORE
Are these crackling sounds in my ear from TMJ?
It may be. TMJ issues may reoccur. You may need to see a TMJ specialist to help get things stabile again. READ MORE
Can I get a dental crown in 1 week?
In some situations, you can. It depends on each case. READ MORE
What material of crown should I select for the front teeth?
The material depends on what you need for strength, and esthetics. There are porcelain fused to metal, Porcelain, or even Zirconia crowns. READ MORE
What to do if the crown hurts?
Let the dentist that delivered your crown know so they can evaluate the tooth and the pain. READ MORE

Prosthodontists specialize in replacing missing teeth and associated oral structures by determining the type of dental prostheses required, having customized dental prostheses manufactured, and fitting them in patients’ mouths. They also treat temporomandibular disorders and various issues associated with damaged and problematic teeth.
For eight years in a row, Dr. Boldridge was honored to be named a Top Dentist in Houstonia Magazine from 2016 through 2023. She is a public speaker about complex implant dentistry, oral cancer and prosthetic rehabilitation, interdisciplinary treatment of head and neck trauma patients, troubleshooting dentures, and the role of digital dentistry in a private practice.
Dr. Boldridge is married, and a mother of two. She enjoys photography, gardening, and being involved in her local community.
