Get to know Urologist Dr. Hooman Sadri, who serves patients throughout the State of North Carolina.

Dr. Sadri is a seasoned urologist currently affiliated with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, working with patients in both Winston-Salem and Greensboro, North Carolina. He has specialized knowledge in electro-ejaculation, vasectomy reversal, and microsurgical testicular sperm extractions. He has also devoted significant attention to studying and addressing complex conditions such as Klinefelter syndrome, other genetic causes of hypogonadism, and infertility resulting from spinal cord injuries.

One of his most notable achievements is the establishment and direction of the spermatogonia stem cell bank for fertility preservation of high-risk boys and men. This bio-banking system, which he oversees, is one of the largest in the world.

With a remarkable academic background, Dr. Sadri obtained his MD from the esteemed Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and Health Services in Iran in 1999. He further pursued his education and earned a PhD from the University of Amsterdam Medical School in the Netherlands in 2012.

His clinical experience includes a residency in clinical andrology at the Vicenna Infertility Clinic in 2006, where he gained hands-on expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of male reproductive disorders. He then pursued a fellowship in urology at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine in 2014.

As a recognized leader in the field of andrology, Dr. Sadri has been actively involved in several professional organizations. He serves as the MD Director for the American Society of Andrology board of directors, a position that highlights his expertise and leadership. Additionally, he is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and the American Urological Association.

Urology, also known as genitourinary surgery, is the branch of medicine that focuses on surgical and medical diseases of the male and female urinary-tract system and the male reproductive organs. Urologists specialize in diseases of the urinary tract and the male reproductive system. Patients may be referred to a urologist if their physician suspects they may need treatment for a condition relating to the bladder, prostate, urethra, ureters, kidneys, and adrenal glands.
