Dr. Kharrazi is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with over twenty years of practice experience providing patients with comprehensive orthopaedic surgical care at his practice locations throughout Southern California.
Specializing in arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine, and minimally invasive surgery, what sets his practice apart from others is his professionalism and the highly personal approach he takes in caring for his patients. Dr. Kharrazi and his staff pride themselves in the individual care they provide, with a goal to return each patient to an active, healthy quality of life.
Some of the most common conditions that they treat include: ACL injuries of the knee, meniscal tears, articular cartilage injuries of the knee, labral tears of the shoulder, rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, ankle ligament injuries, elbow tendonitis, and ligament injuries.
Due to his recognized professional expertise, Dr. Kharrazi holds appointments at several local hospitals and outpatient surgery centers, including Kerlan-Jobe Surgery Center, Cedars Sinai Marina Del Rey Hospital and Beverly Hills Integrated Surgery Center. He has served as an Orthopedic Consultant for many professional sports teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Sparks, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Los Angeles Kings and is currently the head team physician for the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks.
Academically, he graduated with his medical degree from the University of California – San Francisco School of Medicine, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and recognized as an Outstanding Graduate of the UCSF School of Medicine. He then completed his general surgical internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Harvard Medical School, which allowed him to gain valuable experience at several prestigious hospitals in Boston, including Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Boston.
Following completion of his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the Harvard Medical School Combined Orthopaedic Surgery Residency, Dr. Kharrazi completed fellowships in sports medicine and adult hip and knee reconstruction at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles, where he holds current affiliations. Dr. Kharrazi has practiced at the Kerlan Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic for over 20 years and is currently in active practice at the Cedars Sinai Kerlan Jobe Institute as a sports medicine and arthroscopic surgical specialist.
Dedicated to surgical excellence, he is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
In addition to his medical training and practice experience, Dr. Kharrazi is also actively involved in the field of orthopedic surgery, including as a member of: the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the California Orthopedic Association.
His work has been published in leading peer reviewed medical journals in his areas of expertise and he has over 30 publications and book chapters in the topics of his clinical expertise, including shoulder and knee surgery.
