Guiding the Practice Forward with Two Decades of Expertise and a Commitment to Patient-Centered Care

Anne Arundel County, Maryland –Crofton Family Practice, a cornerstone of community health since the late 1960s, is proud to announce Dr. Allison N. Williams as its new CEO. With a commitment to exceptional patient care and a rich history of medical excellence, Dr. Williams is poised to lead the practice into the future while honoring its legacy.

Dr. Williams, a highly respected physician with over twenty years of experience, is known for her comprehensive approach to family medicine, caring for patients ages 5 to 105. She is particularly dedicated to providing personalized care, offering home visits within a ten-mile radius for those unable to travel to the practice. This compassionate approach reflects her belief that thoughtful care is still a tradition worth preserving.

Taking the helm from long-time owner Ronald Sroka, who retired in 2018, Dr. Williams has successfully transitioned Crofton Family Practice to meet the demands of modern healthcare. Under her leadership, the practice has embraced the era of meaningful use and become a participant in Aledade’s accountable care initiatives, further enhancing the quality of services offered to patients.

Dr. Williams’ educational journey began with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Texas A&M University in 1989, followed by earning her Medical Degree from Howard University College of Medicine in 2000. She completed her internship and residency in family medicine at the University of Maryland from 2000 to 2003 and has been serving as a preceptor in Outpatient Family Medicine at Trinity School of Medicine in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines since 2019, where she shapes the next generation of healthcare providers. 

Dr. Williams, a Diplomate of the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons and a member of MedChi, the Maryland State Medical Society, is renowned for her exceptional diagnostic expertise and commitment to preventative care. Her skilled approach to traditional family medicine, coupled with her compassionate bedside manner, has made her one of the most highly regarded clinicians in the Crofton community. This reputation led to her selection as an MDVIP-affiliated provider starting in 2025.

Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Williams has received numerous prestigious accolades, including being named Best in Maryland Doctors 2024 and receiving the Certificate of Excellence for Most Engaged New Practice in Aledade Accountable Care (2022). She was also recognized as Top Family Practitioner 2021, earned the Trademark Women of Distinction Honors Edition 2018, and the Excellence Award in Family Medicine from the Consumer’s Research Counsel of America (2008). Early in her career, she received the T Crawford MD Scholarship Award (1999) and the Presidential Achievement Award (1985).

Beyond her clinical achievements, Dr. Williams has made significant contributions to philanthropy, volunteering at various health initiatives both locally and internationally. From participating in eye camps in India to supporting health fairs in Washington, DC, her commitment to giving back has been a cornerstone of her career.

Dr. Williams attributes her success to her strong educational foundation and the values instilled in her by her mother, a dedicated teacher. Inspired from a young age to pursue a career in medicine, she became the first doctor in her family. Her journey exemplifies resilience and determination, underscoring her mission: “Thoughtful Care is Still A Tradition.”

As a long-time resident of Crofton, Dr. Williams is not only invested in her practice but also in her community. She is a devoted wife and mother who enjoys staying current with medical literature, often reading the AMA Mayo Clinic Medical Journal.
