As a practicing gynecologist since 2001, Dr. Diase’s interests are laparoscopic surgery, robotic assisted gynecologic surgery, and the Mona Lisa Touch laser therapy for improving vaginal health. She is in practice with Southwest Ob/Gyn in Sugar Land, Texas.

Southwest Ob/Gyn was founded in 1995 by an esteemed group of physicians who are well-respected for their expertise in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. The practice is dedicated to providing the highest quality of medical care to women of all ages within a compassionate, supportive, and professional environment. The team of experts working there believe an integrated approach between patient and physician enables them to provide each patient with a unique plan for their well-being. A native of Brownsville, Texas, Dr. Diase’s early interests in humankind and science led her to pursue a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Anthropology and Biology from the University of Notre Dame. She then went on to obtain her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 1997, where she also met her husband, Dr. Mark Vital. 

Her specialty training degree in obstetrics and gynecology is from the University of Texas Houston Hermann Hospital Program, where she also served as Administrative Chief Resident. Other notable awards include Chief Resident of the Year Award and Excellence in Laparoscopy Award.

A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG) and a member of the Harris County Medical Society, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada. 

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts). An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health. 

With an unwavering commitment to her field, Dr. Diase has been recognized and awarded “Houston’s Top Docs” and “Houston’s Top Doc for Women” by H Texas Magazine, “Best Doctors in America”, “Top Doctors” and “Top 5% of Doctors” by Living Magazine, and also has received the “Patient’s Choice Award”. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Outside of the office, her hobbies are reading, rollerblading, and growing orchids. She is the proud mother of her son, Coleman, and her daughter, Kennedy. She enjoys spending every spare moment with her family, including her dogs.
