Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. John Kaczmarek, who serves patients throughout the State of Connecticut.

A prominent obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Kaczmarek is affiliated with Specialists in Women’s Healthcare, seeing patients at their offices in Waterbury and Southbury, Connecticut. His clinical interests include normal and high risk obstetrics, obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound, infertility and gynecologic surgery. His surgery emphasis has been on laparoscopic surgery, hysteroscopy, ablation, and laser surgery.

Pertaining to his educational background, he received his undergraduate degree from College of the Holy Cross, and earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Syracuse in 1991. He then went on to complete his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Hartford Hospital in 1995.

Passionate about his profession, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics & gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Remaining up to date in his field, Dr. Kaczmarek is an active member of the New England Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, the Connecticut State Medical Society, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.

In his professional experience, he maintains hospital privileges at Waterbury Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital, and Naugatuck Valley Surgical Center.

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).
