Back in 1974, Dr. Macaulay obtained his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. He then went on to complete his internship at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in 1975, followed by his residency in family medicine at Charlotte Memorial Hospital in 1977.
With over four decades of experience in his field, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties. He has served on numerous boards and professional societies throughout his medical career, including past member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and past President of the Rocky Mountain Academy of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
