Dr. King is an orthopedic surgeon who is currently serving patients at Orthopaedic Physicians & Surgeons, P.C. in New Jersey. “We provide comprehensive care for general orthopedics, trauma, fractures, sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, joint replacements, and spinal procedures. OPS is at the forefront of new technology and techniques. Dr. King and Dr. Charko constantly pursue new developments in the field of orthopedics to find better ways to serve their patients. Dr. King was born and raised in Long Island, NY. He accepted a four-year Army ROTC scholarship to attend Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in biology in 1984. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and given the opportunity to continue his studies at Long Island University, C.W. Post, in Greenvale, NY. He earned his master’s degree in biochemistry. Dr. King then attended the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY, graduating with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree and achieving high honors in anatomy. After earning his medical degree in 1990, he was promoted to Captain in the United States Army. 

After completing a pediatric orthopedic rotation at Shriners Hospitals for Children in Lexington, KY, Dr. King was placed on active military service at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital in Leonard Wood, MO. During his four years there, he held the post of Chief Orthopedic Surgeon. In 2000, he relocated to New Jersey, establishing OPS with Dr. Charko.

Since joining Dr. Charko at OPS, Dr. King has had an interest in sports medicine, attending yearly CME conferences and receiving additional training on arthroscopic procedures related to the shoulders, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles. He uses the latest technology, including implants and devices, to enhance surgical outcomes. He also performs reconstructive procedures such as partial and total joint replacements, as well as resurfacing procedures.

Dr. King is married with two children. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends boating and traveling. He is an avid proponent of living a healthy lifestyle, which is why he uses his free time to practice the healthy nutrition and exercise he advocates.
