Following in his father’s footsteps as an ophthalmologist, Dr. Couvillion established his own private practice – Retina & Vitreous of Louisiana – in 1999. Devoted to diagnosing and treating retinal diseases, he enjoys sharing his expertise with his patients.
Retina & Vitreous of Louisiana is one of the first specialty ophthalmologists in the Baton Rouge area. Since opening its doors in 2000, the practice has been devoted to offering the best eye health treatment available in Louisiana. The highly-trained and dedicated eye doctors have not lost sight of their mission and continue to provide exceptional eye care for vitreoretinal problems and diseases.
With a broad educational background, Dr. Couvillion received his medical degree and ophthalmology specialty training at the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. He then completed a two-year vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at the renowned Cullen Eye Institute at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He was also granted a scholarship for additional training in Uveitis at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
Through cutting-edge technology and unmatched surgical expertise and experience, Dr. Couvillion has provided patients with the most efficient retina care. In Louisiana, he remains affiliated with Baton Rouge General Medical Center and Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
