Sports Medicine Specialist | Sports Medicine
1710 N. Randall Rd Suite 140 Elgin IL, 60123About
Dr. Alpert is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who completed his sports medicine fellowship at Harvard/Massachusetts General Hospital. He currently cares for student athletes at Judson University, Larkin, Elgin, and Dundee Crown High Schools, as well as the Chicago Inferno Soccer Club. Castle Connolly named Dr. Alpert a Top Doctor for five years running, and Top Orthopedic Surgeon last year.
Dr. Alpert’s primary focus is on getting his patients back to their activities quickly, whether using non-invasive treatments such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell therapies or minimally invasive surgical techniques. When conservative care has been unsuccessful, Dr. Alpert performs knee arthroscopy (in the case of meniscus or ACL tears) and shoulder arthroscopy (for rotator cuff or labral tears), as well as shoulder replacements for arthritis.
In addition to treating sports injuries, Dr. Alpert commonly sees patients with work-related injuries and performs independent medical examinations and impairment ratings.
A lifelong athlete, he understands his patients’ desire to return to work, school, life, and sports not only healed but better than before their injury.
