She received her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore - the first public and the fifth oldest medical school in the United States. This is also where she completed both her Internship and Residency as well as gaining a Fellowship. She holds board certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine; and the American Board of Internal Medicine, Nephrology.
