How do you get bursitis elbow?
People usually sustained bursitis of the elbow from excessive activity or overuse of the elbow. Usually, people sustained both tendinitis and bursitis at the elbow especially the lateral epicondyle I which is lateral bony prominence of the elbow the muscle which attaches to this lateral epicondyle I extend the wrist. With excessive lifting, pulling or pushing as well as a playing tennis the attachment of the muscle at the lateral epicondyle I will be inflamed causing swelling and pain. Such symptom is diagnosed as tennis elbow or lateral epicondylitis. I recommend that you decrease your activity with your elbow and take nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication medication such as ibuprofen, Aleve, or Advil. If you play tennis, you should decrease the tension of the string and or increasing the grip size of the tennis racquet. If your symptoms are not relieved, I recommend that you see an orthopedic surgeon or family doctor for a steroid injection. You can also wear elbow strap which is available in most pharmacies. If you continue to have pain even with anti-inflammatory medications and reduction in activity, I recommend that you see your orthopedist to obtain an MRI of your leg. The MRI will be able to diagnose the stress fracture. Other causes of leg pain are chronic compartment syndrome or sciatica. The chronic compartment syndrome is caused by tight fascia in your leg, and the pain caused by the swelling of the muscles after activities. Stretching exercise do not strengthen the muscles of the ankle. To stabilize the ankle you need to strengthen the eversion, i.e., rotating the foot to the outside, and inversion, i.e., rotating the foot to the inside. You can strengthen the eversion and inversion of the ankle with a rubber band looping around both your ankle with some tension when you try to rotate your ankle outside. Hi, It usually takes 8-12 weeks for the total knee replacement to feel normal. The patient can walk with full weight bearing with a walker right after the operation in the same day, The patient will advance to walk with a cane as he tolerates The wound will heal completely in 2 weeks. With the physical therapy, the patient will gain the normal motion in 4-6 weeks. The knee's strength will be normal in 8-12 weeks. What does it mean when your mid back hurts?
There are several causes for mid back pain such as osteoarthritis of the spine, paraspinal muscle strain, disc herniation. With disc herniation patient usually has numbness and tingling or weakness of the lower extremities, i.e., legs. The most common cause of back pain is muscle strain when the patient perform any heavy lifting, pulling or pushing. Usually, the muscle strain is improving with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication such as Motrin or Advil, exercise and physical therapy. The muscle pain caused by osteoarthritis condition is also relieved by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication, exercise, stretching, and physical therapy. However, with arthritis condition also, low back pain will reoccur periodically. Simple X-rays of the lumbar spine can detect also arthritic change of the lumbar spine. An MRI of the lumbar spine usually ordered to detect the disc herniation. Meanwhile, you should avoid any heavy lifting pulling or pushing. I hope that you will feel better. If your back continue to bother you, I would recommend you to see the orthopedic surgeon for further testing. Rarely, some autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis can also cause chronic back pain. READ MORE

A 1989 graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Medicine, Dr. Chau completed his internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Louisiana State University in 1990 and 1992, respectively. He then went on to complete his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Virginia in 1995, followed by his fellowship in total joint reconstruction at the Cleveland Clinic in 1996.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS), he is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, which is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons. After completing his fellowship training in the Ilizarov Technique in Lecco, Italy, he conducted a presentation on the ‘Treatment of Pilon Fractures with the Ilizarov Technique’ at the AAOS Annual Meeting.
