How long does a dental bone graft last?
Great question, and the answers depend on your specific condition. I hope this helps: How long is the procedure: An extraction socket preservation can take 40-60 minutes. More extensive grafts can take longer. Immediate recovery period is usually about 3-7 days depending on the size of the graft. Healing so an implant can be placed depends on: the number of implants - many times, if four implants are placed at the same time, you can have teeth and a soft diet almost immediately; the type of bone graft material - cadaver bone heals in 3-4 months, non-human graft material can take 6-12 months; your health - diabetes or other issues may slow healing; your habits - smoking/vaping/tobacco use takes longer to heal.
