Voted “Top Dentist” by the Virginia Magazine, Dr. Murchie is well known throughout the Manakin-Sabot area for helping patients regain oral health, function, and aesthetics through comfortable care. By using innovative diagnostic tools such as digital X-rays, intraoral cameras, and panoramic imaging, he is able to plan precise, conservative treatments that address each aspect of a patient’s smile, leaving them with longer lasting results and improved dental health.

Dr. Murchie is affiliated with Goochland Dentistry, whose mission goes beyond providing high quality preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Murchie and his team are dedicated to helping patients smile, speak, and eat with confidence by offering personalized dental solutions for every smile.

Dr. Murchie was born in Falls Church, Virginia and has been a Richmond resident since attending the University of Richmond, where he studied Biology. He then completed Dental School at the Medical College of Virginia, School of Dentistry, finishing Cum Laude. After dental school, he expanded and refined his skills, completing a postgraduate residency in General Dentistry at MCV/VCU focused on Dental Implants and Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Murchie holds professional memberships with several organizations, including the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Virginia Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the International Congress of Oral Implantology, as well as the Christian Medical and Dental Associations.

Dr. Murchie is a gadget-guy. He volunteers his time as an evaluator for Clinician’s Report, an independent testing group that evaluates dental materials, techniques and tools, a.k.a gadgets. He also serves at the Virginia Home on a monthly basis, enriching his life as he assists patients confined to wheelchairs.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. As a general & cosmetic dentist, Dr. Murchie begins with preventive care that includes comprehensive cleanings, oral cancer screenings, and periodontal evaluations, helping patients first improve the health and function of their smile. After achieving optimal oral health, he provides them with a number of advanced cosmetic and restorative treatment options for restoring aesthetics to the smile. Some of the more popular treatments he utilizes include dental implants, porcelain and resin veneers, metal-free fillings, and Invisalign® Clear Braces – among others.

Dr. Murchie loves Jesus and is very thankful for what He has accomplished for him and the world through His life, crucifixion and resurrection. He loves to run, play basketball, cheer on the Boston Celtics and Washington Redskins, as well as is an avid reader of history. He and his wife, Bevin, have three children and find great joy in raising them.
