Get to know Endocrinologist Dr. Beatriz H. Chanduvi, who serves patients in Bethesda, Maryland.

A prominent endocrinologist, Dr. Chanduvi is a part of the team of medical professionals at Endocrine and Diabetes Associates, LLC in Bethesda, Maryland. She diagnoses, treats, and manages endocrine disorders or those affecting the body’s secretion of hormones such as thyroid problems or diabetes.

Locally, she holds privileges at Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center, a 266-licensed bed acute care facility located in Rockville, Maryland.

Back in 1992, Dr. Chanduvi graduated with her medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. She then went on to perform her internship and residency in internal medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital, followed by her fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Maryland Hospital.

Following her training, the doctor attained board certification in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Exellening in her field, Dr. Chanduvi is a Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (FACE) and a member of the Endocrine Society.

Endocrinology is a branch of biology and medicine dealing with the endocrine system, its diseases, and its specific secretions known as hormones. Endocrinologists have the training to diagnose and treat hormone imbalances and problems by helping to restore the normal balance of hormones in the body. The common diseases and disorders of the endocrine system that endocrinologists deal with include diabetes mellitus, as well as adrenal, pituitary, and thyroid disorders, among others.

Among the honors bestowed upon Dr. Chanduvi include: Patients’ Choice Award (2012) and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2012).

On a more personal note, she is bilingual in English and Spanish.
