Can you remove food debris from dentures at home?
Yes, absolutely understanding the denture is made of resin, which can hold food and odors in the polymeric construction it is advisable to use soap and water ( I know may sound gross!) after each meal to remove the debris and brush your teeth if pertaining. Every night soak denture in an oxidizing denture cleaner. If your denture is not in your mouth it needs to be in water or the denture dries out and warps. Do not use toothpaste to clean dentures as it is abrasive and can deteriorate the resin in the denture. READ MORE

With a reputation of excellence in dentistry, Dr. Rao has been in private practice at two locations in Massachusetts, North Grafton and Webster, since 2003 and 2009, respectively. She and her associate, Dr. Asma Hameed, genuinely enjoy helping patients achieve optimal oral health, function, and aesthetics. They are dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate dentistry for the entire family, all the while gaining a full understanding of each patient’s concerns, goals, needs, and expectations.
“I offer gentle dental care for patients of all ages. My approach to dentistry is to move at the patient’s pace in a relaxed setting. I make sure to take the extra time to talk to a patient and put them at ease, which can make all the difference. At my two offices, I make sure all patients are comfortable in and out of the chair. My team and I take the extra step to help everyone with their dental care.” as stated by the dentist.
Establishing an environment where patients feel comfortable and welcome allows Dr. Rao to provide exceptional dentistry with every procedure. Rather than purely focusing on oral health issues or prolonged gaps between visits, she and her team of professionals work closely with patients to create positive dental solutions that help them maintain optimal levels of overall health and increase confidence in their smile.
Born in Bangalore, India, Dr. Rao grew up in the Middle East. After earning a dental degree in India, she opened her own practice and spent five years teaching at a dental school. During that period, she offered her services at a dental camp for members of the community who were unable to afford dental treatment.
In 1995, she relocated to the United States and earned an advanced dental degree at Boston University. To date, she remains a member of the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
Happily married, Dr. Rao has two beautiful children. She is an avid reader and loves to garden.
