Dr. McCool is a leading prosthodontist and restorative dentist in private practice in Lilburn, Georgia. He has special training and experience working with adult patients who have missing teeth and other complex dental issues.

With over 25 years at his present location, Dr. McCool has served the Lilburn area since 1986. During that time, he has continued to upgrade his facility, offering the latest technology for preventive and restorative dental care.

A native of Tennessee, Dr. McCool graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Rhodes College. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, after which he completed a two-year postdoctoral residency in prosthodontics at V.A. Medical Center in Memphis.

A firm believer in staying current in dental concepts, Dr. McCool has completed numerous hours of continuing education to provide his patients with the latest treatments and highest level of care. He has completed most of the curriculum at the Dawson Academy, one of the leading post graduate training and research facilities in the United States. He was also awarded the Passion for Dentistry Award in March 2016 by the Dawson Academy.

On a professional front, Dr. McCool is a member of the following dental study clubs: Leads the Atlanta Dawson Study Club, Atlanta Seattle Study Club, RV Tucker Gold Castings Study Club, and Paradigm Dental Implant Study Group.

In addition, he is an active member of the American College of Prosthodontics, the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the Northern District Dental Society, and the Hinman Dental Society.

Prosthodontics, also known as dental prosthetics or prosthetic dentistry, is the area of dentistry that focuses on dental prostheses. Prosthodontists specialize in replacing missing teeth and associated oral structures by determining the type of dental prostheses required, having customized dental prostheses manufactured, and fitting them in patients’ mouths. They also treat temporomandibular disorders and various issues associated with damaged and problematic teeth.

Happily married to his high school sweetheart for over four decades, Dr. McCool and his wife, Angie, have two children and one grandchild. The family enjoys a variety of activities. With their RV in tow, they relish camping, hiking, hunting, boating, engaging in water sports, and passionately supporting the University of Tennessee athletics.
