Having earned a reputation as a world-class cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Aharon joined Health Quest Medical Practice in its Division of Cardiovascular Surgery in 2018. He is also affiliated with Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, New York.  

Health Quest is a local family of nonprofit hospitals and healthcare providers in the Mid-Hudson Valley and northwestern Connecticut. Dedicated to excellence in patient care, Dr. Aharon has expertise in a broad spectrum of adult cardiac surgery, including minimally invasive cardiac surgery, off-pump coronary revascularization, valve repair, complex aortic surgery, structural heart disease, advanced heart failure therapy, including mechanical assist devices, and heart and lung transplantation.

Having led several cardiac surgery programs throughout his career, he was most recently Campus Chief of Cardiac Surgery at Main Line Health in Pennsylvania & Associate Professor of Surgery at the Lankenau Institute of Medical Research, also a part of Main Line Health.

A lieutenant colonel in the United States Army Reserve, Dr. Aharon has held leadership positions in Army Special Operations. Following his undergraduate degree in engineering, he completed medical school at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1990. 

Furthering his education, he performed his residency in general surgery and his fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at UCLA Medical Center. He then obtained additional expertise in thoracic transplant surgery as well as pediatric and complex adult cardiac surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the doctor is board-certified in general surgery & thoracic and cardiac surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge. 

Over the course of his career in cardiothoracic surgery, Dr. Aharon has developed a distinguished reputation as an active clinician and researcher. The author of numerous scientific publications, he has served as a primary investigator on a number of clinical and basic science studies. He is also co-founder of AVN Technologies, an innovative medical device company, and holds multiple national and international medical device patents. 

Consistently achieving excellent surgical outcomes from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons Public Reporting initiative, he belongs to medical organizations. These include: the American Medical Association, the Medical Society of the State of New York, the Southern Medical Association, the Louisiana State Medical Society, the California Medical Association, the Ohio State Medical Association, and the Orleans Parish Medical Society.
