Well-versed in the field of emergency medicine, Dr. Sabato Jr. is the former Medical Director of the Clinical Decision Unit at UMass Memorial Medical Center, the current Medical Director of the 911 center and also serves as an Associate Professor within the Department of Emergency Medicine at the UMass Medical School.

He then completed his residency in internal medicine at Rochester General Hospital and became boarded in Internal Medicine.

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP), the doctor is board-certified in emergency medicine  by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). The ABEM is one of 24 medical specialty certification boards recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.

To boot, he is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
