Celebrating 26 Years of Innovation at Gateway Aesthetic Institute

A leading authority in cosmetic dermatology and laser treatments, Dr. Taylor founded the Gateway Aesthetic Institute and Laser Center in Salt Lake City in 1997. Today, Gateway stands as the world’s largest dedicated cosmetic laser center, boasting over 60 lasers and more than a dozen energy devices.

His academic journey commenced at Brigham Young University, followed by medical school at the University of Utah and a dermatology residency at the University of Oregon. He is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and has dedicated over 35 years to advancing the field of cosmetic dermatology.

Renowned for his innovative techniques and contributions, Dr. Taylor has taught and published extensively on laser surgery, influencing thousands of doctors globally. In March 2018, he conducted the Master Circuit Course for the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, sharing his expertise with peers committed to excellence in patient care.

Among his significant achievements is the invention of the Taylor Liberator® acne scar subcision instrument, a groundbreaking tool now utilized by physicians worldwide. Additionally, he developed the Poke a Dot Lift® procedure, showcasing his commitment to enhancing patient outcomes.

On a professional level, Dr. Taylor is a Fellow of prestigious organizations such as the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology. He serves as a cosmetic surgery fellowship director for the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and is an active member of DASIL and other international professional associations.

In tandem with his clinical work, he co-founded SkinCareRx.com with his son Chris, a leading online vendor of skincare products. He has also created three cosmeceutical lines: COSMION®, NuCelle®, and M2, further solidifying his impact on the skincare industry.

Dr. Taylor’s passion lies in treating a wide range of cosmetic concerns, including acne scars, laser resurfacing, birthmarks, and complex skin issues. In 2015, he expanded his vision by founding the Gateway Emerging Technologies Medical Clinic, focusing on functional wellness medicine and FDA-monitored clinical research.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Taylor enjoys skiing, swimming, backpacking, fly fishing, and golfing. He is a dedicated family man, blessed with eight children and 29 grandchildren.
