A trusted and established internal medicine physician, Dr. Whitfield has strong family ties for generations to the Dahlonega community, which is the home of her practice. She has been a member of Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG Internal Medicine Dahlonega) since 2012 and is a core faculty member for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born and raised in Dahlonega, Dr. Whitfield received her medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine. She then went on to complete her residency in internal medicine at Atlanta Medical Center.  

Specializing in the medical treatment of adults, she is board-certified in internal medicine & hospice and palliative medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Whitfield is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Society of Internal Medicine.

Practicing medicine in Georgia, she is affiliated with Chestatee Regional Hospital, Northeast Georgia Medical Center Barrow, Northeast Georgia Medical Center, and Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton.
