Get to know Pulmonologist Dr. Mayanka Tickoo, who serves patients in New Haven, Connecticut.

A board-certified pulmonologist, Dr. Tickoo tends to patients at Yale New Haven Hospital, focusing on QI and delivery of quality care at the end of life in the Medical Intensive Care Unit.

Relying on the skill and expertise of more than 4,500 university and community physicians and advanced practitioners, including more than 600 resident physicians, Yale New Haven Hospital provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary, family-focused care in more than 100 medical specialty areas. As the primary teaching hospital for Yale School of Medicine, it has supervised physician residents and fellows supporting medical staff by providing around-the-clock coverage and insightful, research-supported patient care.

Before embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Tickoo earned her medical degree from the Lady Hardinge Medical College in India in 2010. Upon relocating to the United States, she received her Master of Science degree in Pain Research Education and Policy from the Tufts University School of Medicine in 2012, before completing her residency in internal medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine in 2015. She then returned to Tufts University and completed her fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine in 2018.

With an unwavering commitment to her specialty, the doctor is board-certified in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
