Dr. Shannon is an esteemed plastic surgeon who specializes in both plastic and reconstructive surgeries, including wound care. He sees patients at Keystone Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in The Woodlands, Texas. Additionally, he is a consultant for Medline Industries and Acera Surgical, where he does a lot of wound care.

Locally, he is affiliated with Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital, Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, and HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball.

Back in 1988, Dr. Shannon graduated with his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine in 1988. He then went on to perform a residency in general surgery at Lankenau Medical Center in 1993, and a residency in plastic surgery at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 1996.

Passionate about his profession, the doctor is board-certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

Plastic surgery is a broad field that includes not only cosmetic or aesthetic surgery, but also surgical repair of congenital deformities such as cleft lip and palate, post-surgical reconstruction such as breast and head-and-neck defects, and correction of post-traumatic defects.
