It is a two-campus, 668-bed specialized teaching hospital and a part of Northwell Health.

Alongside his clinical role, he serves as an Assistant Professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in East Garden City, New York. He has research interests in iron deficiency and rehabilitation medicine for end-stage renal dialysis patients.  

A 1974 graduate of New York Medical College, Dr. Kleiner went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at North Shore University Hospital. This was followed by a fellowship in nephrology at NewYork-Presbyterian /Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Passionate about his profession, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, which is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
