Serving as the sole electrophysiologist at Lake Granbury and Comanche County Hospitals, Dr. Shah provides comprehensive cardiology care. His expertise lies in treating preventive cardiology, coronary artery disease, fainting/syncope, arrhythmias, pacemakers and defibrillators, heart failure, valvular disease, and pulmonary embolism. He has offices in Fort Worth, Weatherford, Lake Granbury and Comanche in Texas. 

Dr. Shah’s academic journey began at King Edward Medical University in Pakistan in 1985. He furthered his training in the United Kingdom at North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary and General Hospital, obtaining Membership and eventually Fellowship at the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh, Scotland. His pursuit of excellence led him to New York, where he completed a residency in internal medicine and served as Chief Resident at Stony Brook University Medical Center, earning recognition with the David Weeks Memorial Best Resident Teaching Award.

Continuing his specialization, Dr. Shah completed a fellowship in cardiology and electrophysiology at the esteemed University of Oklahoma, known for its expertise in ablation and electrophysiology. Following his training, he joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor before relocating to Fort Worth, Texas, in 2000.

Board certified in both cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology, Dr. Shah is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

From 2006 to 2016, Dr. Shah served as the Program Director for the Cardiology fellowship program since its inception at Medical City Fort Worth. He was chosen by his students for the Best Teaching Attending Award during his tenure there, and was also awarded the Fort Worth Business Press Hero Award in 2006.

Actively involved in teaching, medical students, residents, fellows, and nurse practitioners, Dr. Shah currently serves on faculty at TCU as an Assistant Professor.

Clinical cardiac electrophysiology (also referred to as cardiac electrophysiology, arrhythmia services, or electrophysiology), is a branch of the medical specialty of cardiology and is concerned with the study and treatment of rhythm disorders of the heart. An electrophysiologist is a type of cardiologist. They focus on the heart’s timing, or electrical system, and on diagnosing and treating irregular heartbeats or arrhythmias. They are also qualified to perform special tests / procedures on the heart’s electrical system, such as an electrophysiology study or an ablation and implanting devices like pacemakers and defibrillators.
