Dr. Hasan received his medical degree from Rawalpindi Medical University in Rawalpindi, Pakistan in 1986. Upon relocating to the United States, he went on to complete his residency at Washington University. He also completed additional residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Buffalo, where he served as chief resident and received the Best Resident Research Award. Thereafter, he went on to complete his fellowship in interventional spine at the University of Pennsylvania.
During his fellowship training, Dr. Hasan worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Connecticut Health Center. He also worked as an interventional physiatrist at a multi-specialty private group in New Hartford, New York.
Dr. Hasan is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He is also a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMR)
Dr. Hasan is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR). The mission of the ABPMR is to serve the public by improving the quality of patient care in physical medicine and rehabilitation. These procedures and techniques include: lumbar and cervical transformational injections, facet blocks, medial branch blocks, radiofrequency rhizotomy, provocative discogram, sacroiliac joint blocks, piriformis blocks, and spinal cord stimulators. Any procedure requiring more than minimal sedation is performed by Dr. Hasan in the interventional radiology suite at Albany Memorial Hospital.
