Get to know Dentist Dr. Deepa Rao Nyayapathi, who serves patients in Belle Mead, New Jersey.

A passionate dentist, Dr. Nyayapathi, better known as Dr. Rao, aims to create a difference while spreading smiles. Her life experiences have shaped her values and given her the vision to establish Montgomery Dental Loft, a dental practice that prioritizes comfort, convenience, and affordability for patients.

Growing up in an environment where dental health was not emphasized has enabled her to be non-judgmental and aware that different patients have different needs. She customizes treatment plans for each patient, understanding that dental fears must be addressed first before accessing dental care. Her several years of practice have taught her the importance of patient comfort, leading her to design the practice with this in mind.

Before embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Rao graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston and completed an AEGD residency from Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. While at school, she volunteered for the Special Olympics in Vermont.

On a professional level, she is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Indian Association of International Dentistry, and is an Invisalign provider.

The story behind the birth of Montgomery Dental Loft began when Dr. Rao moved to Hillsborough in 2009 after falling in love with the town during one of her visits to a friend’s home. She had been practicing in central Jersey for many years in various practices but always dreamed of owning her own family practice serving the communities of Hillsborough, Montgomery, Bridgewater, Princeton, Manville, and Hopewell.

When she saw a newly constructed strip mall in Montgomery, she jumped at the opportunity to create her dental home. The Grove at Montgomery lies on higher ground, conveniently facing 206, a busy highway, hence the name “Montgomery Dental Loft.”

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.

Dr. Rao’s love for art and sketching has inspired her to incorporate precision and finesse into her dental work. Her slogan, “Art with my kinda brush,” represents the artistic nature of dentistry. She encourages all of her patients who are art lovers to bring their work in, as she would love to see it and showcase it as the “Lofty Art of the Month.”
